The Newly Born UK Story

When my partner and I had our first daughter, Nylah, we received all manner of presents, but the one that stood out was a personalised gift - it was a plush bunny with Nylah's name embroidered on, but it felt special to us.

Instead of using it for a while then just throwing it away, Nylah ended up holding onto the bunny as a cherished toy, and it got me thinking.

She was born in December 2020, so around that time I started researching the baby gift market and thinking about how we could create our own personalised gifts to recreate the feeling that original bunny gave us.

From our family to yours

Then our second daughter, Nevah arrived in February 2023, and the thoughtful presents started arriving again. I found myself comparing each gift, looking into the quality of the products, the materials used and how each one felt to receive, and I wondered if I could do any better.

Later that year I was sat in my office when the name 'Newly Born' just popped into my head - simple yet effective, and it motivated me to start making this business a reality. I drew the logo, designed some of our first products and started contacting suppliers and manufacturers.

After a few months of meeting suppliers in person and testing different materials with various laser engraving machines, we eventually settled on a high quality industrial laser which we use to write the names on the gifts, and began ordering in our first batches of stock. Then it was a case of creating this website, which we launched in 2024.

We're still learning how best to deliver these products, but early feedback has made one thing clear - people love what we do and we’re confident we’re onto something. So the only goal now is to improve our offering and the online shopping experience - our hope is that every Newly Born gift becomes as treasured in someone else's home as Nylah’s bunny was in ours.
