When people ask how Newly Born UK started, I usually say:
“It began with me designing a logo and a lot of late nights researching.”
But the real story? It’s a bit wilder than that.
Before we were shipping personalised baby gifts across the UK (and now to countries around the world), I was on a mission, not just to build a brand, but to find the right products.
I don’t mean jumping on trends. I mean really get out in the field sourcing, testing, comparing, tweaking, even chasing down better versions of things I knew parents would love but could never find in shops.
Global Sourcing
I’ve personally sourced items from places like Turkey, India, China, Thailand and when I say sourced, I don’t mean sitting behind a laptop clicking ‘order sample’. I travel to these countries, go from factory to factory, day in and day out while I’m there, meeting suppliers face to face and handpicking the best. Each product goes through a long process before it’s ever gift wrapped. I test them myself. Feel the materials. See how they hold up. If it’s not safe, long-lasting, and worthy of becoming someone’s baby’s first memory, then it doesn’t make the cut. Believe me!
For example, our baby blankets, they’re not just soft, they’re soft enough to keep, even after 30 washes! And the price? CHEAP!
Our dummy clips? I’ve tested thousands. Literally, THOUSANDS! Because if your baby’s going to be chewing on something all day… it needs to be perfect. Once the products arrive, we get them tested here in the UK to make sure they meet safety standards before personalising anything.
