People always ask me how Newly Born UK started, I usually say:
“It began when me and Sasha had our first child”
But the real story? It’s more crazy than that.
Before we were shipping personalised baby gifts across the UK (and now to countries around the world), I was a man on a mission, not just to build a brand, but to find the right products that the recipients really connect with.
I really got out there in the field sourcing, testing, comparing, tweaking, even creating better versions of things I knew parents would love but could never find in shops.
Global Sourcing
I’ve personally travelled to Morocco, Costa Rica, China, Thailand and Spain purely to source products. I went from factory to factory, day in and day out while I’m there, meeting suppliers face to face and handpicking the best of the best. Each product goes through a very long process before it’s gift wrapped. I feel the materials myself. Test the products. Check their durability. If it’s not safe, long-lasting or worthy of becoming someone’s baby’s first memory, then it doesn’t make the cut. Believe me when I say that!
For example, our baby blankets, they’re not just soft, they’re soft enough to keep, even after 30 washes! And the price? CHEAP!
Our dummy clips? I’ve tested thousands. Literally, THOUSANDS! Because if your baby’s going to be chewing on something all day… it needs to be perfect. Once they arrive, we get them tested here in the UK to make sure they meet safety standards before personalising anything. Safety is our priority, because we have kid's and we know how important it is to provide the safest products.
