Outdoor Activities to Save You Money This Summer

Outdoor Activities to Save You Money This Summer

With the weather outside getting warmer and the summer holiday’s fast approaching, I’ve put together a few fun activities me and my family will be doing this summer. There are plenty of ways to keep little ones entertained while staying on budget and making memories.

At Home & In The garden

Being at home doesn’t have to be boring. There are so many fun activities you can make and do in your own home and back garden.

1.        Plant and water flowers and vegetables

Get little ones involved in the garden by planting flowers, herbs, or vegetables and watching them grow throughout the summer.

2.        Paddling pool & water toys

Keep cool on warm days with a paddling pool and water toys for hours of simple, affordable fun.

3.        Make an outdoor playhouse using recycled cardboard boxes

Turn old cardboard boxes into imaginative playhouses, castles, or shops for lots of creative fun.

4.        Make a mess with a sandpit

Encourage sensory play and creativity with a sandpit, perfect for digging, building, and exploring.

Parks & Nature Trails

Turn a simple walk into an adventure by creating a list of things to find, such as flowers, birds, butterflies, and interesting leaves. It's fun, educational, and completely free.

Many local nature reserves and walking trails are free to visit and are perfect for family adventures. Bring lots of snacks and a camera to capture the memories.

Take a ball or scooter and spend the day outdoors. Most parks have free play areas and plenty of space for children to explore.

Fun Days Out (Budget Friendly)

You can often find fun days out locally, take the time to research activities happening over the summer holidays in your area. For example My local football and dance clubs offer set days at reduced prices. Not only does this help with childcare if needed, but it’s also a chance for your children to try something new and make new friends.

Summer days don't have to be filled with expensive trips and activities. Children often enjoy the simple things most, whether it's splashing in a paddling pool, exploring a local park, or getting messy in the garden. With a little creativity, you can create lasting memories and enjoy quality family time without stretching your budget.
